Botanic Garden calls for budding writers and artists
The Friends of the Dundee University Botanic Garden are offering local writers, artists and photographers the opportunity to be published in a new anthology. The anthology will showcase local short stories, poems, art and photography inspired by the gardens which draw more than 80,000 visitors every year. Free garden tours with refreshments will be held four times throughout the year to enable anyone interested to focus on their submission. Students 'University Challenge' for historic team
Dundee’s historic University Challenge champions from the 1980s will return to the city next week to take on the students set to represent the University in next years’ television series. The 1983 side became the second only Scottish team to win the competition, a record that hasn’t been added to since. Dundee scientists help provide UK stem cell resource
One of the largest sets of high quality human induced pluripotent stem cell lines from healthy individuals has been produced by a consortium led by the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and involving the researchers from the School of Life Sciences at Dundee. ‘Protein missile’ raises possibility of disease breakthroughs
University of Dundee researchers have shown that it is possible to rapidly target and destroy specific proteins in cells, raising the possibility of developing new ways of targeting ‘undruggable’ proteins in diseases.
