University partners with Bukwang Pharmaceutical Company to develop new drug treatment for Parkinson’s disease
The University of Dundee‘s Drug Discovery Unit (DDU) has announced a multi-million-pound partnership with Korean-based Bukwang Pharmaceutical Company in a bid to develop a new drug treatment for Parkinson’s disease. This announcement builds upon existing drug discovery partnerships the DDU has with Takeda and GSK. Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurological disorder, after Alzheimer’s disease, affecting around two people in every 1000 across the population. Dundee's little learners graduate from University
Following in the footsteps of thousands of graduates who received their degrees from the University of Dundee last month, children from the University Nursery have celebrated their own graduation with a special ceremony. Donned in bright blue robes and mortarboards, 29 children are moving on from the University of Dundee Nursery after years of friendship, fun and learning. Babies and toddlers can aid science and brush up on their painting skills as part of a major University of Dundee study. Rail tragedy inspires Hailey’s Commando debut
An American student who came to Dundee with no experience of writing comics has become one of the first female writers in over 30 years to have a story published in the legendary Commando war comic. Hailey Austin, a PhD student at the University of Dundee, has written ‘Steel Inferno’, a fictionalised version of a true World War II story of bravery and sacrifice, which will be published as Commando #5241 tomorrow.
