Pupils plant seeds of partnership with Malawian plot

Scotland’s ties to Malawi will break new ground this week when a new garden celebrating the links between the two countries is revealed to the public. Dundee pupils from the Law Nursery, St Ninian’s Primary and Rosebank Primary will help plant the first seeds of celebration on Tuesday 28th May, as their schools announce new partnerships with five Malawian schools. The idea to create the new patch was developed by students from the University of Dundee and staff from NHS Tayside. A University of Dundee graduate hopes to leave moviegoers spellbound this week, as his own magical touch transports them to the fantasy world of Aladdin. Chinese architects among host of international exhibitors

More than 350 students from 21 countries spread across three continents are exhibiting at the 2019 Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design and Architecture Degree Show, which runs until Sunday. China is one of the most highly represented countries at the exhibition, thanks in part to a pioneering partnership between the University of Dundee and Wuhan University, one of the top higher education institutions in China. Pioneering female academics and Polish ‘soldier students’ are among those who feature in a new book celebrating the teaching of Law in Dundee. ‘Dundee Law 1865-1967: The Development of a Law School in a Time of Change’ is written by Robin M White, a former Senior Lecturer in Law and currently an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Dundee. A former doctor will provide a different type of diagnosis for the human race this week as her jewellery, which depicts thousands of years of human genetic code, is showcased at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and Architecture Degree Show.
