Couple renew their own vows for University’s 50th anniversary

George and Sunita Thomson, who met and then tied the knot at the University of Dundee in 1987, returned to campus at the weekend to renew their marriage vows in front of fellow alumni. The couple met at the University’s Medical School in the 1980s when Sunita was studying for one of her subsequent three degrees from the University. Together they returned to campus for the 50th Anniversary Alumni weekend and renewed their vows in a ceremony with the minister who married them almost three decades ago, Rev Bob Gillies. Degree Show packed during opening weekend

More than 10,000 visitors flocked to this year's University of Dundee Art, Design and Architecture Degree Show during its opening weekend. Degree Show is Dundee’s largest annual exhibition of art and design. Awards recognise impact of skin disease research at Dundee

The international impact of dermatological research from the University of Dundee has been recognised by two major awards to Irene Leigh CBE, Professor of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. Professor Leigh has been awarded the British Society of Investigative Dermatology Medal, the highest honour in UK dermatological research. She has also been given the highest honour of the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the leading US research society at their recent meeting in Portland, Oregon. Architecture graduands produce plans to transform Scotland’s communities

Plans to transform Scotland, from its most remote communities to towns, cities and the urban sprawl of the central belt, are explored by graduands at this year’s University of Dundee Art, Design and Architecture Degree Show. University to honour leading international figures

Legendary Olympian Katherine Grainger, Oscar-nominated film director David Mackenzie and famed actor-turned-science advocate Alan Alda will have Honorary Degrees conferred upon them by the University of Dundee next month.
