Local mum to give back to PAMIS

An Arbroath mum whose children benefit from the work of the University of Dundee based charity PAMIS is to take a tour of Angus toilets to raise money for the organisation this weekend. Lois Speed will cycle throughout Angus visiting Changing Places toilets in a number of towns. She will be accompanied on her trip with other fundraisers and is still looking for more volunteers. Changing Places toilets are large enough to accommodate a wheelchair and up to two carers. Academia-industry collaboration gets £7 million to accelerate drug discovery

The University of Dundee has announced renewed funding of more than £7million from three of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies to support its Division of Signal Transduction Therapy (DSTT). Pharmaceutical giants Boehringer Ingelheim, GlaxoSmithKline and Merck will provide support of £7.2 million until 2020, enabling scientists at Dundee to continue their fundamental research in multiple therapeutic areas, including cancer, arthritis, lupus, hypertension and Parkinson’s disease.
