Skin cancer model boost for prevention and treatment
Researchers at the University of Dundee have found that skin cancers in mice can closely mirror those found in humans, offering a model that could be used to help develop new drugs and find new ways of preventing the disease. Skin cancer is the most common cancer worldwide and is on the rise. In the 10-year period from 2001 to 2011, Scotland saw an increase of more than 50 per cent in the incidence of the disease with around 3,000 new cases now diagnosed annually. Dundee one of the world’s best for international student satisfaction
The University of Dundee has been ranked 1st in Scotland, 3rd in the UK and 14th globally for overall average student satisfaction in this year’s International Student Barometer (ISB). The University has launched a £25,000 competition to support new business ideas among students, staff and recent alumni. Stephen Fry has praised University of Dundee academics for their efforts in communicating their research to the public and helping transform lives from Scotland to southern Africa. University calls for Carmina Burana Choir
The University of Dundee Choir has challenged the general public to shake off their January blues and stretch their vocal chords as it opens its doors to wider than ever before. Students, staff and members of the public are invited to join rehearsals on Tuesday, 17th January at 7.30pm at the Bonar Hall.
