A Working Model of the World goes on display

A Working Model of the World will open to the public at the University’s LifeSpace Gallery on Friday 15 June and will be on display until Saturday 22 September 2018. Activity key to optimising stroke recovery

Emphasising the importance of sustained rehabilitation can help health services cope with rising numbers of people surviving a stroke, a University of Dundee expert has said. Dr Jacqui Morris, Reader in Rehabilitation Research at the University’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences, said that providing long-lasting support for those living with the aftermath of the condition is now more essential than ever. Fun and games to help youngsters discover science

Experts at the University of Dundee have concocted a formula for family fun as they celebrate all things science this weekend. Staff are throwing open the doors of the University’s School of Life Sciences on Saturday 16 June for its Inside Out Science Open Day. UV light treatment can save millions while helping patients

Treating severe skin conditions with UV light rather than creams, pills and injections could save the NHS millions of pounds while improving patient outcomes, according to a new University of Dundee study. Dr John Foerster and colleagues from the University’s School of Medicine found the annual per-patient cost of filtered UV light treatment, known as phototherapy, to be around £250. Hope arrives on campus

A striking new sculpture has been unveiled on University of Dundee’s city campus - Hope, a large black dog from the leading UK mental health charity SANE. The 3ft fibreglass statue, part of SANE’s successful Black Dog campaign, now stands at the heart of the city campus to remind students and staff about the importance of talking about mental health.
