£2million award for cancer researcher
A University of Dundee scientist has been awarded £2million to explore the role that one of the most fundamental processes in cell biology plays in cancer. Professor Karim Labib will receive the grant from Cancer Research UK to study mechanisms that preserve genome integrity during the final stages of chromosome replication in animal cells. ‘Design Out Loud’ to showcase oral history collection
Dundee’s designation as the UK’s first City of Design recognised the creativity and innovation running through its past and driving its future, features that a University of Dundee event will celebrate next week. European diabetes award for Dundee Professor
One of the major prizes in Europe for research in diabetes has been awarded to Professor Ewan Pearson, of the University of Dundee. The European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) gave the 2017 Minkowski Prize to Professor Pearson at their annual meeting in Lisbon. The prize recognises research contributing to the advancement of knowledge concerning diabetes. Dundee students up for Undergraduate Awards
Students from across the University of Dundee have been shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Undergraduate Awards. 10 students - representing disciplines across the University – are in the running for the awards, with MLitt English Studies student Sarah Coakley nominated twice for separate submissions.
