Talk puts medical art under the microscope
The world of Victorian-era medical tuition is to be dissected at a talk at the University of Dundee on Tuesday. Dr Jessica M. Dandona will discuss how wax models, charts and human specimens were used to teach anatomy to medical students at University College Dundee and the University of St Andrews between 1880–1900. Garden mural to sprout interest in healthy eating
A University of Dundee student is hoping to give residents of the city’s West End food for thought by promoting an edible garden. Alexis Bernstein, an Arts and Humanities Masters student at the University’s Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, plans to take a bite out of bad eating habits by unveiling a mural to highlight the garden, which was planted last summer. Hitting the books helped author realise writing dream
One of Scotland’s most exciting emerging authors says that her experience as a University of Dundee student prepared her for a new chapter in her life. Having completed her MLitt in Writing Practice and Study in 2014, Sandra Ireland has just released her third novel, The Unmaking of Ellie Rook. A University of Dundee student has penned herself a page in comic book history as she becomes the first American to write for the UK’s legendary Commando comic. Hailey Austin, a 24-year-old PhD student, who moved to Scotland with no experience of writing comics.
