Summer exhibition is time to shine for unseen art
Stunning examples of unseen Victorian-era art will go on display at the University of Dundee this summer. The works of several Scottish artists will be exhibited publicly for the first time with the launch of the exhibition ‘Scottish Art 1800-1900’, which opens in the University’s Tower Foyer Gallery on Friday 5 July. Creatures from the Tay to help explore what it means to be human
A hitherto undiscovered civilisation living beneath the River Tay are set to emerge from their aquatic asylum and deliver their verdict on our species when the University of Dundee hosts the UK’s national celebration of the humanities later this year. Dundee has once again been named as one of five hubs for the Being Human festival, which takes place from 14-23 November. Dundee ranked among UK’s top 5 for student satisfaction
The University of Dundee has been ranked 4th among UK universities for overall student satisfaction in the 2019 National Student Survey (NSS). The University recorded overall satisfaction of 90%, up 2% on the 2018 result and well above the sector average of 84%, and was ranked 2nd in Scotland. The National Student Survey is a census of nearly half a million students undertaken independently by Ipsos MORI and evaluates how satisfied students are with the quality of their higher education experience. Poets pit Scotland’s personality against itself
Some of Scotland’s most famous people, places and products have been pitted against one another as part of a new poetry publication. Professor Sir Mike Ferguson honoured with a knighthood
Mike Ferguson, Regius Professor of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee, has today received a knighthood for his services to science. Professor Sir Mike, one of the UK’s most eminent life scientists, received the award at Holyrood on Tuesday 2 July after his accolade was announced in the most recent New Year’s Honours list.
