Hairdressers are always listening to their client’s problems, but Dundee stylist Kim Innes has had enough of hearing about one in particular. Kim, from Studio Hair Design in Broughty Ferry, was so tired of cancer affecting her clients that she decided to raise money for the University of Dundee’s Medical Oncology department. Dundee lecturers team up with CBBC to solve a mystery

Two University of Dundee Forensic Science lecturers will star in a new CBBC TV show. Dr Lucina Hackman and Dr Catriona Davies, from the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID), will feature in an episode of ‘All Over the Workplace’. The programme, which airs Wednesday, 8th February, aims to give children an insight into a range of careers open to them when they grow up. The show follows two young children, called Edwin and Leila, who will take on the role of Forensic Scientists under the guidance of Dr Hackman and Dr Davies. The Dundee International Book Prize 2017 to open for entries

The prestigious Dundee International Book Prize will open for unpublished authors to polish their manuscripts and stake their claim for £5,000 and a publishing deal with Freight Books. Submissions are being sought for the 2017 award from Monday, 30th January. The prize also offers a week of protected writing time in the City of Discovery as well as the coveted publishing contract and cash prize.
