John Swinney to meet with Education students

Deputy First Minister John Swinney MSP will visit the University of Dundee later this week to speak to the next generation of teachers in his role as Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills. He will meet with students from the University’s School of Education and Social Work, who invited him to Dundee, along with staff from the School on Friday 8 February. Mr Swinney will speak about key matters relating to education in Scotland and answer questions from the student teachers preparing to enter the classroom. Preparations under way for Chinese New Year

Students and staff at the University of Dundee are getting into celebratory spirit today ahead of Chinese New Year. A series of events will take place across campus ahead of Tuesday’s festivities, which will welcome in the Year of the Pig. An inaugural celebration hosted by the University’s Architecture and Urban Planning department attracted more than 100 guests last year, with even larger numbers anticipated to attend this year’s event. ‘Future Shock’ success for comics graduate Anna

A University of Dundee graduate has been singled out as one of the comics industry’s rising stars just a few months after leaving university. Anna Morozova graduated in November with MDes in Comics & Graphic Novels and was commissioned by 2000 AD, one of the most successful British comics of all time, to draw for ‘Future Shock’, a section dedicated to the best up-and-coming writers and artists.
