Dundee lecturer completes 1000th consecutive daily run

A University of Dundee lecturer is celebrating, and resting, after completing his 1000th consecutive daily run. Dr David Rodley, from the School of Science and Engineering, set out on January 1st 2015 to start his quest to complete a whole year of daily runs, the only self-imposed stipulation being that each run should be at least two miles long. Next month’s Dundee Arts Café will explore the relationship between celebrity culture and tourism. Dr Susan Mains, from the University of Dundee, will be exploring how famous people can make certain destinations more desirable on Tuesday 3 October. Chancellor visits `world leading’ life sciences at Dundee

Philip Hammond, Chancellor of the Exchequer, today visited the University of Dundee where he was given an insight into the world leading research being carried out in Life Sciences. Dundee is the top-rated University in the UK for biological sciences research. Mr Hammond was given a tour of the School of Life Sciences including the Discovery Centre, the £50million building which was supported by direct funding from the UK Government. Exhibition to celebrate the work of D’Arcy Thompson to go on display

The University of Dundee’s LifeSpace Gallery will be paying tribute to the work of D’Arcy Thompson to celebrate the centenary of his seminal book ‘On Growth & Form’. ‘Bubble, bulge, bleb’ will feature spirals, spheres and waves in art inspired by naturally occurring mathematical forms and computer-generated abstractions. Top 25 place for Dundee in Good University Guide

The University of Dundee has been ranked as one of the UK’s top 25 universities in this year’s Times / The Sunday Times Good University Guide.
