Scotland the Brave: Charlotte ditched legal world to follow nursing dream
A Fife mother whose baby son was hospitalised by a kidney condition said that the nursing staff who cared for him inspired her to enter the profession. Charlotte Scotland says she has found her calling as she prepares to receive a BSc in Adult Nursing from the University of Dundee on Friday. New programme to help address nursing shortage
A programme aimed at addressing Scotland’s record level of vacant nursing posts has been launched by the University of Dundee. The Return to Practice initiative will continue in February 2020, providing a pathway for former nursing staff to return to the profession in just three months. Operated by the University’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences and approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the course includes one week of on-campus study with 450 hours of practice on placement, refreshing skills and bringing students up to current professional standards. Degree helps grad draw attention to an ill-understood disease
A University of Dundee graduand will be able to proudly receive her Master’s degree this week knowing that she has helped draw attention to an often misunderstood condition which affects 176 million women worldwide. Living Together in closies, multis and semis
The history of housing in Dundee – from 19th century tenements hastily erected to cope with a growing population to post-industrial decay and suburban sprawl – is explored in a new exhibition at the University of Dundee. ‘Living Together’, which runs in the Lamb Gallery, Tower Building, until January, has a particular focus on communal and social housing. Crime cohort set to graduate
A publican used to hearing customers complain about the price of a pint being ‘murder’ will this Thursday become one of the first students to graduate from a unique crime writing course at the University of Dundee. Zoe Cooper will receive her MLitt Crime Writing and Forensic Investigation degree at the University’s Winter Graduation ceremony on Thursday 14 November, as will classmates Gillian Duff and Scot Mackenzie.
