Storey sisters illuminate the secrets of neuron birth in latest show
The award-winning Storey sisters will launch their latest exhibition in Dundee this week, fusing the worlds of fashion and cellular biology. Designer and social artist Helen Storey and her sister Professor Kate Storey, Head of the Division of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University, will launch Neurogenesis on Thursday 22 March at the Visual Research Centre in Dundee Contemporary Arts. Exhibition draws on asylum records to reconsider mental health today
The lives of a group of Scottish people certified as insane more than a century ago will help shine a light on today’s mental health issues in a new exhibition at the University of Dundee. ‘Face to Face: Stories from the Asylum’ looks at the lives of nine patients admitted to Dundee Royal Lunatic Asylum at the turn of the 20th century with diagnoses that appear unusual to modern eyes. Families will be able to explore a fuel of the future and learn the secrets of creating the perfect poo at a science spectacular in Dundee this week. The University of Dundee’s School of Life Sciences will bring its Magnificent Microbes event to Dundee Science Centre on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 March. Chinese students’ Scottish wedding after finding love in Dundee lab
They came from China with a passion for studying biotechnology but two University of Dundee students were celebrating yesterday after completing a lesson in love.
