Dental students scrum for Mouth Cancer Action Month

Dental students from the University of Dundee have teamed up with Scottish rugby legend Scott Hastings and oral health experts in a bid to raise awareness of mouth cancer. Hastings, patron of the charity Let’s Talk About Mouth Cancer will be visiting Dundee on Wednesday, 16th November to launch this year’s Mouth Cancer Action Month campaign in Dundee. ‘Research in Film’ award for Kieran

Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design PhD student Kieran Baxter has won an award for his stunning visual reinterpretation of two prehistoric Angus hill forts. ‘The Caterthuns’ won Kieran the 2016 Arts and Humanities Research Council 'Research in Film Awards' Doctoral Award. The film saw Kieran recreate the White and Brown Caterhun hill forts near Edzell more than 2,000 years after they were populated. Male fertility research boosted by Gates Foundation grant

The University of Dundee announced today that it is a Grand Challenges Explorations winner, an initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The project will enable a unique collaboration bringing together expertise at Dundee in male fertility and drug discovery to help identify possible new male contraceptive drugs. Primary teacher Adam Fortune will graduate from the University of Dundee this week – just a couple of hundreds of yards from where he used to busk during his student days in the city. Adam (27), originally from Campbeltown but who now lives in Perth, will receive his Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Education (PGDE) at the University’s Winter Graduation ceremony on the morning of Thursday, 17th November.
