Students win award for Degree Show project

Two recent graduates from the University of Dundee have won a competitive sports entrepreneurship competition that will help them to develop ideas they showcased at this year’s Art, Design & Architecture Degree show. Andrew O'Riordan and Jack Hinton have received £4000 each for winning the coveted Sports Innovation Challenge, run by Sporting Chance Initiative. The Product Design graduates will also receive in-kind support from a number of industry partners and a space in the business incubator at The Sport Hive, based at the University of Stirling Innovation Park. Royal Society awards Francis Crick Medal and Lecture to Dundee researcher

Dr Miratul Muqit, of the University of Dundee, has been awarded the prestigious Francis Crick Medal and Lecture by the Royal Society in recognition of discoveries that have led to better understanding of the causes of Parkinson’s disease. Dr Miratul Muqit is a Consultant Neurologist and researcher at the MRC Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit (MRC-PPU) at the University. £7m to establish Scotland-India partnership to tackle diabetes

The University of Dundee has been awarded a £7million grant from the National Institute of Health Research Global Health programme to establish a major new Scotland-India clinical partnership to combat diabetes.
