Student faces loss and pain to achieve her degree
For most students, graduation is a time to celebrate with friends and family. But for Tina Christian she will spend her day thinking of those who cannot be there. The 57 year-old University of Dundee Business Management graduate has overcome excruciating loss and debilitating health problems to collect her degree on Thursday, 22nd June. Honorary degree for Fatou Bensouda
Fatou Bensouda, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, today received an honorary degree from the University of Dundee. Ms Bensouda has led the Office of the Prosecutor at the ICC in The Hague since 2012. Her office investigates and prosecutes cases of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. Thousands of successful students will feel the tap of the Dundee bonnet this week as the University of Dundee hosts its annual summer graduation ceremonies. Some 2746 students will graduate with degrees, postgraduate diplomas and diplomas over the course of the week. Six ceremonies will take place at the Caird Hall from Wednesday 21st-Friday 23rd June. Scottish experts call to `change the conversation’ on breastfeeding
Experts in neonatal care, mother and infant health, and nutrition from across Scotland are calling for a `change in the conversation’ around breastfeeding, at the start of National Breastfeeding in Scotland Week. New research centre to focus on psychoactive substances
A new Centre for Excellence in New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) Research has been created at the University of Dundee to help tackle the emerging epidemic of highly addictive new drugs. The Centre forms the research arm of a wider initiative with the Scottish Police Authority Forensic Services and the Scottish Government, creating a Drugs and NPS forensic capability for Scotland.
