Dundee's little learners graduate from University

Following in the footsteps of thousands of graduates who received their degrees from the University of Dundee last month, children from the University Nursery have celebrated their own graduation with a special ceremony.

Donned in bright blue robes and mortarboards, 29 children are moving on from the University of Dundee Nursery after years of friendship, fun and learning.

Malzgorata Mazanka, Junior Nursery Manager, said, “It’s such an emotional day for all of us. We often have families send all their children here, so to see the last one go after 12 years or more looking after them and their siblings, is tough to see, but so rewarding.

“When we asked them what they wanted to be when they are older, many said police officers, firefighters and even a batman but one of our pupils said she simply wanted to be herself and I think that is beautiful.

“We are immensely proud of all our graduates today and wish them all the best at school.”

The nursery, situated in the heart of campus, offers childcare and education and care for children aged from birth right up to 5-year-olds. It is currently under development to become a forest-nursery school.
