£1.4m investment in Global Excellence Scholarships

The University of Dundee, one of the world’s top 200 universities and the Scottish University of the Year, is investing £1.4million in a new range of scholarships to attract the best students from around the world.

Dundee is the Scottish University of the Year 2016 (The Times and Sunday Times) and the top UK university in Times Higher Education’s global rankings of `Universities under 50’. The University consistently offers one of the best student experiences in the UK and was recently named in the top 10 of the UK’s National Student Survey, placing it ahead of Cambridge and Oxford.

The new range of Global Excellence Scholarships will give students from around the world the opportunity to experience Dundee for themselves.

Around 100 new scholarships are being made available through the project, worth up to £10,000 each.

“Our Global Excellence Scholarships are an investment in talent, helping bring the best students from around the world to Dundee, where they will receive world-class teaching and be offered great opportunities as part of one of the best student experiences in the United Kingdom,” said Professor Sir Pete Downes, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dundee.

“By bringing the best to Dundee, and offering them the best, we are building on our global reputation for excellence.”

The Global Excellence Scholarships are open to undergraduate and postgraduate level students starting at the University of Dundee from September 2017.
