Cooper Summer Residency goes digital

This year’s Cooper Summer Residency at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design will be unfolding online as writer and creator Seán Elder shares his work across the internet.

Seán will be showcasing ‘Encountering’, an online art & critical writing project that will feature on the Cooper Gallery website and social media channels.

The Birmingham-based writer and curator will reflect upon the key questions and debates raised by Cooper Gallery’s recent programme whilst intersecting them with his own research.

Cooper Gallery curator Sophia Hao said, “This project resonates with our vision to advocate for art and critical writing and to encourage cross-disciplinary approaches that engage broader audiences outside of the field of visual art.

“This is a great opportunity to encounter Seán’s practice at a point where ideas are germinating, research is developing and writing is a continuous process.”

The public will be able to see the project develop throughout the summer online at https://groupcriticalwriting.dundee.ac.uk. It is now live and will run until Thursday, 31st August.

The Cooper Summer Residency takes place each year and invites artists, writers and thinkers to reflect upon and experiment with new ideas and strategies that extend or further explore their practice.
