Dundee offers Scotland’s best student experience, says Times Higher Education survey

The University of Dundee offers the best student experience in Scotland and is joint 4th in the UK, according to the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey. Dundee was rated first in the UK for good accommodation, centralized/convenient facilities and cheap shop/bar/amenities, and second for good students’ union. River Tay celebrated in fiction

Charity Golf Challenge to support male cancer patients

The University of Dundee’s Institute of Sport & Exercise (ISE) will next month hold its annual Charity Golf Challenge. Teams are invited to enter the event on Monday, 2nd June and help support men with cancer during and after their diagnosis. As a result of last year’s Charity Golf Challenge, ISE has been able to provide male patients with access to a cancer exercise rehab package through the Move More Dundee Programme. 20,000 beads form one of 245 exhibits at 2014 Degree Show

For the past eight months, Jay Frazer’s life has been dominated by beads. In that time, she has painstakingly handmade close on 20,000 clay beads for the visually striking piece that will go on display at this year’s Degree Show at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD). Conference seeks resolution to archives issue

The University of Dundee will this weekend host a conference looking at the future of the post-1878 archives of the Scottish Catholic Church. The symposium will take place at the University’s Tower Building from 10.30am-3.30pm on Saturday, 17th May and will be led by History Lecturer Dr Annie Tindley. Historians have complained that difficulty in accessing the post-1878 Scottish Catholic Archives, currently held in Columba House, is hampering their research.
