‘Constructed Materiality’ – student exhibition at DJCAD

‘Constructed Materiality’, a new exhibition of work by six Fine Art students at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD), opens at the Cooper Gallery Project Space next week. The exhibition will showcase the work of Level 2 students Morgan Atkinson, Darryl Gowans, Steph Graham, Lily Hassioti, Tamara Richardson and Fergus Tibbs from Thursday 1st to Friday 9th May. Stagecoach backs spare blood project to help fight disease

Stagecoach Chairman and co-founder Sir Brian Souter is backing world-leading medical research in Scotland, as hundreds of posters promoting the GoSHARE spare blood project are displayed on Stagecoach buses across Tayside, Fife and Grampian. The posters encourage people who give blood samples – either to their GP or while in hospital - to allow the leftover samples to be used for medical research. Every day in Scotland, many thousands of samples of blood are discarded after use. Labour Forecasting Tool grabs innovation award

A unique tool developed by a Dundee company to forecast labour needs for construction projects has been awarded a prestigious prize by the Chartered Institute of Building. The Labour Forecasting Tool developed by Whole Life Consultants Ltd and commissioned by the Construction Industry Training Board is a web-based application for forecasting labour needs on a whole range of construction projects, including housing, schools, infrastructure, and commercial buildings. Students to consider what they want to do ‘Before I die’
