DUSA Achieves Volunteer Friendly Status

Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) has received official accreditation through the Volunteer Friendly Award Scheme. This will enable DUSA to officially recognise and reward its volunteers, enhancing students’ CVs and employability as a result. Working towards the Volunteer Friendly Award has taken around five months and has involved gathering and presenting a robust portfolio of evidence that demonstrates how DUSA recruits, supports, protects, rewards and celebrates each volunteer. International academics to witness Dundee’s cultural regeneration

Dozens of experts in housing and urban development from around the world will today visit Dundee to witness the city’s cultural regeneration for themselves. The fieldtrip will be led by academics at the Universities of Dundee and St Andrews as part of the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) Conference 2014 taking place in Edinburgh. Scotland’s Young Academy welcomes three new members from Dundee

The University of Dundee is strongly represented in the new intake of members to the RSE Young Academy of Scotland (YAS). Dr Annie Tindley, a Senior Lecturer in History, and Dr Maria Ana Cataluna, Senior Lecturer in Physics and RAEng/EPSRC Research Fellow, currently work at the University while Dr Mhairi Towler, CEO & Director of Vivomotion, founded her company while working towards her PhD at Dundee. Prostate Cancer UK, Movember and Scottish Government pump £500,000 into search for answers over killer disease

Dundee researchers handed key role in battle against most common male cancer Prostate Cancer UK, The Movember Foundation and the Scottish Government have today (Friday 27 June) handed researchers at Dundee University a six figure sum to investigate unanswered questions surrounding prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men in Scotland.
