Stephen Fry Award 2014 for neuroscientist attempting to arrest decline in bee numbers

Researchers uncover secrets of newborn neurons
A new form of cell sub-division that is key to the development of the nervous system has been identified by researchers at the University of Dundee. Neurons are vital to the development of the nervous system and in some regions of our brains they are continually produced throughout our lives. 'Disrupting the Alignment' - exhibition by Naiza Khan opens next week
An exhibition of work by leading Pakistani artist Naiza Khan that examines the implications of globalised urbanisation for a land and its people opens at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) next week. 'Disrupting the Alignment', which will be held at Cooper Gallery, is Khan's first major solo exhibition in Scotland. Screenings of Mandela film to be accompanied by talks by University experts
Experts from the University of Dundee will next week host a special event looking at South African culture and social history to accompany screenings of 'Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom' at Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA). 'The Defence of an Independent Scotland' - AHRI Lecture on 15th January
The challenges of defending an independent Scotland in the event of a 'yes' vote in this year's referendum will be explored at a public lecture at the University of Dundee next week. Esteemed military historian Professor Sir Hew Strachan will talk about the subject at the D'Arcy Thompson Lecture Theatre, Tower Building, at 6pm on Wednesday, 15th January.
