'Changing Perceptions? The Great War and Public Memory' – Remembrance Lecture on 7th November

University of Dundee historian Dr Derek Patrick will this week deliver a special Remembrance Lecture to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. 'Changing Perceptions? The Great War and Public Memory' takes place at 6pm on Friday, 7th November at the University’s Dalhousie Building, Old Hawkhill. The event is being jointly hosted by the University and Tayforth Universities Officers Training Corps (UOTC). Exceptional students recognised for achievements

The annual Life Sciences Learning & Teaching Student Awards at the University of Dundee will this week recognise the accomplishments of dozens of high-achieving undergraduates. Sixty-eight students will be congratulated for their hard work over the last academic year at the MSI Lecture Theatre, College of Life Sciences on Thursday, 6th November. ‘CHEERS!’ TO DUNDEE SCIENCE FESTIVAL

Dundee Science Festival organisers clinked glasses today to toast the launch of the biggest event in its five year history. The festival, which will run from Saturday 1 until Sunday 16 November 2014, is a two-week city-wide celebration of science, providing fun, entertainment, inspiration and curiosity for all ages.  With a new ‘personality’, the festival will host a staggering 112 events this year, twice as many as last year. Tackling poverty and malnutrition in India

A guest lecturer at the University of Dundee’s Centre for Environmental Change and Human Resilience (CECHR) will next week discuss poverty and malnutrition in areas of India where an abundance of natural resources mean they should not exist.
