£2000 boost for healthy bodies and minds

The University of Dundee’s Alumni Fund has raised £2000 to help promote the role that diet and exercise can play in enhancing mental wellbeing. The money was raised as part of this year’s Alumni Fund telephone campaign and has been donated to ‘Creating Healthy Bodies and Healthy Minds’, a partnership between Dundee University Students’ Union (DUSA), the Sports Union and the University’s Student Services team. Food security group wins major funding for world-leading food and land research

The Scottish Food Security Alliance-Crops (SFSA-C), a collaboration between the Universities of Aberdeen and Dundee and The James Hutton Institute has been awarded €2million funding to research the global links between food security and land use change. The funding will allow the group to work towards tackling one of society’s biggest challenges of the 21st century - feeding a global population of 9-10 billion people by 2050. Post-referendum, pre-election views sought for project

Campaign activists and voters in the 2014 Scottish referendum are being asked to take part in a project at the University of Dundee which will take a `snapshot’ of people’s views on the  referendum and the forthcoming General Election. BT Murrayfield's Changing Places toilet helps cater for all

BT Murrayfield today (December 9th) welcomed the official opening of Scotland's 100th Changing Places toilet, a facility which will improve the provision for disabled fans at the stadium.The newly-installed toilet, launched in conjunction with charity Profound and Multiple Impairment Service (PAMIS) and their Changing Places campaign, is larger than a standard disabled toilet and includes a height-adjustable changing bench, a hoist, and enough room for a wheelchair, its user and two carers.   Changing Places toilets allow people with profound and multiple learning disabilities – as well as ...

Carols by Candlelight offers foodbank support

The University of Dundee’s annual service of Carols by Candlelight, which will take place at 5pm on Sunday, 14th December at St Paul’s Cathedral, will help support the work of Dundee Foodbank this year. All money collected at the service, which takes the form of the traditional nine Lessons and Carols, will be donated to the local charity which offers emergency food supplies to people in need.
