Special effects designer to launch art/science exhibition
A major new exhibition showcasing a collection of significant artwork inspired by D’Arcy Thompson will open at the University of Dundee’s Tower Foyer and Lamb Galleries on Friday, 30th May. ‘A Glimpse of a Great Vision: The D'Arcy Thompson Art Fund Collection’ features works acquired by Museum Services as part of a two-year project funded by the Art Fund’s RENEW scheme. PAMIS to showcase bereavement resource at Holyrood
University of Dundee-based charity PAMIS will tomorrow visit the Scottish Parliament to showcase a new resource for bereaved people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and those who care for them. People with such complex disabilities and their families face many barriers to accessing and participating in the community, and PAMIS works on a number of fronts to enable inclusion and improve their quality of life. £1000 painting donated to help raise awareness of domestic abuse
An award-winning Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) student currently exhibiting at the Degree Show 2014 is to donate one of her striking, figurative paintings to Dundee Women’s Aid to help raise money for its work supporting victims of domestic abuse. Russia-born Dina Mackins has been exploring the issue during the final year of her Fine Art degree and hopes her exhibit will raise awareness of domestic abuse. 'Summer Shorts' offer access to art world
Visitors to this year’s Degree Show at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) inspired by the breath-taking array of creativity on display can take advantage of a range of short courses running at the institution over the summer.
