Almost 150 Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design graduates, who wowed visitors to last month’s Degree Show, are set to receive nationwide exposure after being selected for prestigious exhibitions. Sixty-seven graduating students from the Product Design, Jewellery & Metal Design, Digital Interaction Design, and Textile Design courses at Duncan of Jordanstone, part of the University of Dundee, will be exhibiting at the New Designers exhibition, which takes place in London over two tranches from 29th June to 2nd July. Two babies and four degrees push medic Pippa to the limit

For most people, the prospect of becoming a parent during their studies would be daunting but University of Dundee graduand Pippa Bell pushed herself further by having a second baby while studying for her degree in Medicine. Pippa (38), from Roxburgh in the Borders, gave birth to her daughter Elizabeth between the first and second years of her course and followed up with son Douglas less than 12 months later. Second major design award for ‘Zinc House’

A rural dwelling designed by the University of Dundee’s Professor Graeme Hutton and local firm Leadingham Jameson Rogers + Hynd to blend seamlessly into its surroundings has won a second major architecture prize. The team behind ‘Zinc-House’ near Monikie received a Royal Incorporation of Architects In Scotland (RIAS) Award at the organisation’s annual ceremony in Glasgow last night. A group of wise-cracking researchers and students from the University of Dundee will make the jump from lecture theatre to the stage later this month when they perform at the latest Bright Club event.
