University top in Scotland The University of Dundee is ranked among the top 20 most innovative universities in Europe, and first in Scotland, in a new ranking produced by Reuters. Researchers discover new enzyme family
Researchers from the University of Dundee have discovered a new family of enzymes that could provide greater understanding into the development of diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Frontotemporal dementia. In research published online in the journal Molecular Cell, Dr Yogesh Kulathu and colleagues from the University’s School of Life Sciences have reported the discovery of a completely new group of Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs). Scotland’s first Graduate Medical Programme
Scotland’s first Graduate Medical Programme, designed to meet the current and future needs of the country’s NHS, will be delivered by the Universities of Dundee, St Andrews and the Highlands and Islands, it has been announced today (June 14th). The Scottish Graduate Entry Medical Programme (ScotGEM) is a four-year programme that could accommodate up to 50 students per year, starting in the academic year 2018/19 subject to approval from the General Medical Council. Parasitic nematode worms are the `hidden enemy’ of farmers world-wide, causing billions of pounds worth of crop damage every year.
