Dundee shows off the lighter side of research

A group of wise-cracking researchers and students from the University of Dundee will make the jump from lecture theatre to the stage later this month when they perform at the latest Bright Club event.

The next instalment of Dundee’s freshest comedy club with an intellectual twist takes place at Braes on Tuesday, 21st June at 8.30pm.

Comedian Susan Morrison, who will be hosting the event, said, “I am delighted to return as compere for the funniest night this side of the Tay.

“Bright Club always stands out as a great night, especially since it’s the only comedy event with such weird and wonderful stories from students and researchers across the city.”

Members of the audience can expect humorous tales from the University's Valerie Bentivegna, Ian Bertram, Ed Smith-Uchotski, Valentina Ferro, Lauren Dunlop and others, who will discuss everything from your guts and unexpected epidemics to things your doctor doesn’t tell you.

Dundee’s Bright Club which started in November 2011, blends comedy, new writing, research and performance into a funny and fascinating evening of entertainment. The series is part of a wider movement and runs regular events in the city throughout the year.

Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8:30pm.
