Biggest-ever DeeCon set to take place

The success of anime, animation and art convention DeeCon means the 2016 event will burst out from its base at Dundee University Students’ Union (DUSA) for the first time. Saturday, 9th April promises to be a day of colour, fun and geekiness on campus with film screenings, board and video game tournaments, stalls, exhibitions, demonstrations and industry presentations taking place at DUSA, the University Chaplaincy Centre and Queen Mother Building. Lorraine Kelly becomes 100,000th volunteer to join SHARE

Television presenter – and former Rector of the University of Dundee – Lorraine Kelly has become the 100,000th volunteer to join a Scotland-wide effort to help shape the medicines of the future. SHARE (The Scottish Health Research Register) is a unique initiative which aims to make it easier for researchers to identify suitable recruits from Scotland to carry out ground breaking medical research. Internationally renowned feminist activist artists Guerrilla Girls are bringing their attention-grabbing work to the University of Dundee for an exhibition taking place as part of the Women in Science Festival. The exhibition, ‘hormonal’ opens at LifeSpace Gallery on Thursday, 3rd March and brings together work by international women artists. Sixteen graduates for 2016 New Contemporaries

Fifteen graduate artists and one architect from the University of Dundee will exhibit their work at the 2016 Royal Scottish Academy New Contemporaries show, which opens in Edinburgh this weekend. World’s only Women in Science Festival returns to Dundee

Dundee’s Women in Science Festival, the only event of its kind in the world, will next month bring authors, academics and entertainers come together to celebrate the achievements of female Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) pioneers.
