Superhero Drs the focus of comic conference
The unlikely duo of comics and health care will be discussed at a special conference at the University of Dundee. Graphic Medicine 2016: Stages and Pages, is the world’s only conference that brings together experts and enthusiasts in the fields of medicine and comic art. The event will investigate the interaction between comics and healthcare in relation to performance. Effectiveness of canagliflozin in treating Type 2 diabetes
Research led by the University of Dundee has found that one of a new breed of drugs, which have been approved for treatment of Type 2 diabetes, may be particularly effective without the need to be used in combination with the existing drug, metformin. Three drugs - canagliflozin, dapagliflozin and empagliflozin - that inhibit SGLT2 (sodium-glucose co-transporter-2) have been approved for treatment of Type 2 diabetes in the USA and Europe within the last two years. Class of 1976 graduates who married at University return to Dundee

Among them will be the reunion organisers, Philippe and Jane Boissiere, who got married during their fourth year of studies in Dundee. Mary Lily Walker’s birthplace celebrated by plaque
Victorian social reformer Mary Lily Walker, known for improving the lives and living conditions of her fellow Dundonians, is to be commemorated by the University of Dundee and Historic Scotland next week when they unveil a plaque at the home in which she was born. The memorial plaque will be placed upon 152 Perth Road at 2pm on Tuesday, 5th July by Lesley Nicoll from campus services at the University, English Tutor Eddie Small and Dundee City Councillor, Lesley Brennan. Experts gather for `concrete technology heaven’
