Launch of International College Dundee
The University of Dundee has signed an agreement to establish International College Dundee, an alternative entry route into degree courses that is expected to attract hundreds of new international students to Scotland. The University is partnering with Oxford International Education Group (OIEG) to establish International College Dundee. ’12 Hour Action Group’ brings together leading artists, curators, poets and writers
Dozens of artists ranging from counterculture figures to the creators of modern day fairy tales will perform at an international symposium at the University of Dundee this weekend. The University’s Cooper Gallery will host ’12 Hour Action Group’ from 11am-11pm on Saturday, 3rd December. ‘Minecraft: A Shift in Learning’– Dundee Arts Cafe on December 6th.
This month’s Dundee Arts Café will delve into the 3D world of Minecraft. Derek Robertson from the University of Dundee will explore the wondrous simplicity and complexity of the extremely popular game, and discuss the challenges of introducing games like Minecraft into the formal world of the classroom. NMC appoints Professor Mary Renfrew to lead development of new midwifery standards
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has appointed Professor Mary Renfrew FRSE to lead on the development of new standards of competence for the future graduate registered midwife. Professor Renfrew is Associate Dean in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences in the University of Dundee, where she is Director of the Mother and Infant Research Unit. Student nurses put through their paces
More than 300 student nurses from the University of Dundee are battling through a unique military boot camp this month with the 225 (Scottish) Medical Regiment. Training with some of Scotland’s Army reservists, students from both the Dundee and Kirkcaldy campuses are developing their team-working, leadership skills and physical and emotional resilience at Oliver Barracks, Dalkeith Road in Dundee and in Glenrothes.
