New funding for aquaculture degrees will support Scottish commercial success
The Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre has gained funding for 25 new taught Masters places in aquaculture. The Masters courses, at the Universities of Stirling and Dundee, will focus on industry-relevant knowledge and skills. By providing business-focused training to aquaculture students in Scotland, these courses will help to develop an industry that already contributes as much as £1.4billion annually to the Scottish economy. PAMIS welcomes new Chief Executive
Jenny Miller has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the University of Dundee-based charity PAMIS, taking over the post from Loretto Lambe who has retired after 22 years in the role. Graphic Design student receives cheque for Angus Open Studios competition win
A student from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) has won a competition to design marketing material for the Angus Open Studio Event 2015. Ruth Niven, a final-year Graphic Design student, received a cheque for £200 from representatives of Angus Open Studios (AOS), an association of artists, craftsmen, and designer-makers in and around Angus. Their showcase event takes place each May, when local artists and craftsmen open their studios to the public. Travel beckons for award-winning artists
Two masters students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) have won prestigious travel awards to enable them to develop their practice in new environments. Samantha Wilson was named winner of the £3000 Alexander Graham Munro Travel Award, a prize offered by the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (RSW), while Laura Hope has won a newly initiated Saltire Society Arts Bursary worth £1500.
