Dundee International Book Prize shortlist announced
From Perth, Scotland, to Perth, Australia and taking in Texas, Tennessee, Singapore and the south of England, the finalists for this year’s Dundee International Book Prize have been drawn from four continents. The shortlist for the 2015 prize features ten debut novels selected from the record 500 entries received by organisers Literary Dundee. ‘Laurence Olivier, Vivien Leigh and the unmade Macbeth’ – Arts Café on 2nd June
The University of Dundee’s Dr Jennifer Barnes will next week reveal how she discovered screenplays from Laurence Olivier’s unmade film version of Macbeth which were thought to be lost. Dr Barnes, a Lecturer in Film Studies at the University, will be leading the next Dundee Arts Café event at The McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery & Museum on Tuesday, 2nd June. How can the EU protect the Arctic environment?
An international panel of experts will come together at the University of Dundee this week to explore how European Union countries can prevent the Arctic from environmental catastrophe. The 2015 EU-Arctic Conference takes place at the Dalhousie Building on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May and will bring together academics, practitioners and industry figures.
