‘Outstanding’ partnership to help vulnerable people in communities

A partnership between the University of Dundee and the Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has been awarded the highest grade of ‘Outstanding’ by Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. ‘The Mighty Women of Science’ – 4th March

Women in Science Festival’s Family Fun Day

A Family Fun Day jam-packed with exciting science experiments is being held at Charleston Community Centre this weekend. The free event opens at 10am on Sunday, 5th March and takes place as part of this year’s Women in Science Festival, which is organised by the University of Dundee. Improving muscle strength in older people – recruits wanted!

The University of Dundee is looking for older people to help with a clinical trial to improve muscle function in older people. The UK-wide trial is testing whether a commonly used heart pill and a food supplement could improve the health of older people across the UK by improving muscle strength. The research team at the University aims to recruit 30 people aged 70 and over, contributing to a total of 450 participants across the UK. £1.9million to help children from deprived areas brush up on oral health

A new research project led by the Universities of Dundee and Sheffield has been awarded almost £2million to investigate ways of improving the oral health of young people living in deprived areas. The researchers will work with 48 schools and nearly 6000 young people in Scotland, England and Wales on the four-year Brushing Reminder 4 Good Oral Health (BRIGHT) initiative.
