Film, photography, dance, performance and sculpture feature in the second instalment of a contemporary art exhibition and event programme at the University of Dundee. Of Other Spaces: Where Does Gesture Become Event?takes place at the University’s Cooper Gallery and off-site venues in Dundee. It takes feminist inspiration as its starting point and features work by seminal artists from the past four decades including Anne Bean, Rose English, Linder and Georgina Starr amongst others. One of Scotland’s most successful ever public arts events will be relived this weekend when ‘The Untold Story of Oor Wullie's Bucket Trail’ is told at the University of Dundee. The event, taking place at the Dalhousie Building, Old Hawkhill, on Saturday, 21st January, will celebrate last summer’s Bucket Trail, the hugely successful mass-participation event in Wullie’s hometown of Dundee. Skin cancer model boost for prevention and treatment

Researchers at the University of Dundee have found that skin cancers in mice can closely mirror those found in humans, offering a model that could be used to help develop new drugs and find new ways of preventing the disease. Skin cancer is the most common cancer worldwide and is on the rise. In the 10-year period from 2001 to 2011, Scotland saw an increase of more than 50 per cent in the incidence of the disease with around 3,000 new cases now diagnosed annually.
