Dundee to welcome Singing Children of Africa

22 Kenyan orphans will get a taste of life at University and take to the stage this week as they continue their singing tour of the United Kingdom at the University of Dundee. The ‘Singing Children of Africa’, who are organised by Scottish charity Educate the Kids, first began touring the UK as an act in 2006. They will be given a taste of University life in Scotland on Thursday, 21st September when they are guided by researchers around the campus in Dundee. 'Dundee and Me: How the City Shapes our Moods’

University of Dundee academics are to work with children and vulnerable adults from the city to explore the links between their local environment and emotional wellbeing. The team behind 'Dundee and Me: How the City Shapes our Moods’ will ask the group about the places that both positively and negatively impact upon their mood and the reasons for the feelings they invoke. £2million award for cancer researcher

A University of Dundee scientist has been awarded £2million to explore the role that one of the most fundamental processes in cell biology plays in cancer. Professor Karim Labib will receive the grant from Cancer Research UK to study mechanisms that preserve genome integrity during the final stages of chromosome replication in animal cells. European diabetes award for Dundee Professor

One of the major prizes in Europe for research in diabetes has been awarded to Professor Ewan Pearson, of the University of Dundee.
