Employers and academics to design apprenticeship courses
Employers, academics and students will come together at the University of Dundee this week to explore a new initiative aiming to address key skills shortage in industry. The Graduate Apprenticeships programme has been launched by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) in partnership with universities, including Dundee. Representatives of SDS and the University will address employers on the programme’s benefits at the Queen Mother Building on Friday, 17th February. ‘Precision Medicine in Diabetes’ Café Science on 13th February
A University of Dundee professor will be discussing a potentially revolutionary change to diabetes treatment at the next Café Science event. Design students look to the Waterfront for latest project
The changing face of Dundee’s waterfront is providing the inspiration for the next generation of designers at the University of Dundee. The second year Textile Design students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design have used the redevelopment of the city’s Waterfront to create designs that capture the creativity behind its transformation. Support for health professionals reduces unnecessary antibiotic use in hospitals
A major international review led by the University of Dundee’s Professor Peter Davey has identified effective and safe ways to reduce unnecessary use of antibiotics in hospitals. The updated Cochrane Review published today concludes that guidelines and policies to pinpoint the patients in need of antibiotics have the greatest impact when doctors are supported to change their prescribing behaviour.
