Exhibition to celebrate the work of D’Arcy Thompson to go on display
The University of Dundee’s LifeSpace Gallery will be paying tribute to the work of D’Arcy Thompson to celebrate the centenary of his seminal book ‘On Growth & Form’. ‘Bubble, bulge, bleb’ will feature spirals, spheres and waves in art inspired by naturally occurring mathematical forms and computer-generated abstractions. It will open on Friday 22 September and features work by artists including Mat Fleming, Andy Lomas, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham and graduates from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. Top 25 place for Dundee in Good University Guide
The University of Dundee has been ranked as one of the UK’s top 25 universities in this year’s Times / The Sunday Times Good University Guide. A five-place rise in this year’s rankings means Dundee now sits 23rd in the league table, which also highlights the fact graduates of the University enjoy better career prospects than their peers from almost any other institution in the country. Alex Salmond to address renewables conference
Former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond will deliver a keynote speech on renewable energy at a major conference taking place at the University of Dundee later this year. Mr Salmond will speak at the ‘Renewables After Brexit’ event organised by the University’s Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy (CEPMLP). Graduates win top prizes at Undergraduate Awards
Two University of Dundee graduates have won global honours at the Undergraduate Awards, the largest international academic accolade programme. Martha Andrews has won the Architecture and Design award and Jordan Skrynka took the honours in the Psychology category. Both won in the face of fierce competition from students around the world.
