CECHR Collaborative Research - Incubator Competition, 2017
Applications are invited for up to three ‘Incubator Grants’, sharing from a maximum fund of £3,000, to support new cross- and interdisciplinary projects aligned to the CECHR mission of promoting more sustainable and equitable futures. A key component will be that the project demonstrates the potential for generating future research funding. New research conducted by Professor Ioan Fazey in collaboration with the international futures forum has explored a futures practice called Three Horizons. This intuitive and simple approach can be used with any group to help them develop futures consciousness. That is, a better understanding of how actions in the present relate to the future. The approach is helpful to develop thinking and actions for transitioning from one way of doing things (business as usual) to more transformative patterns. Tayplan initiative provides outreach for the local area
Dr Deepak Gopinath, Lecturer in Town and Regional Planning, along with colleagues at the University of Dundee, TAYPLAN and PAS, has been part of an exciting initiative – ‘the Youth Camp’, that used the popular game, Minecraft as well as interactive workshops to plan the future of Dundee's waterfront.
