The University of Dundee, as one of the founding partners, is delighted to share the news today that V&A Dundee, Scotland’s first design museum, has confirmed its opening date and first exhibition. Satellites show snow-covered Scotland

Images captured by the University of Dundee Satellite Receiving Station show almost half of the British Isles covered in snow and cloud today. ‘A decade of cancer prevention’ - Café Science on 22 January

A leading University of Dundee researcher will outline the daily steps people can take to help prevent certain cancers at Café Science next week. Two new exhibitions opening at the University of Dundee this weekend focus on the wonder of plants and the role they play in our lives. Another chance for the last man hanged in Dundee?

A re-examination of the medical evidence which led to the execution of William Bury, the last man hanged in Dundee 129 years ago, will be staged at a public mock trial next month, organised by the University of Dundee. Bury was found guilty of the murder of his wife Ellen, and hanged on April 24, 1889. In his initial confession he made a claim to be Jack the Ripper. His conviction rested largely on medical evidence which drew some uncertainty from the jury at the time.
