Scientists solve puzzle of the cellular ‘Mexican wave’
An electrifying puzzle that has evaded scientists for more than half a century, likened to a cellular Mexican wave, has finally been explained, according to a team of European scientists led by the University of Dundee. Bright times ahead for summer school students
Access Summer School students from the University of Dundee are walking on sunshine after completing their path to higher education. Museum plan was ‘Designed to Inspire’ 30 years before V&A Dundee
A far-sighted former Principal of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art called for a landmark building to house a major design museum some 30 years before the V&A Dundee project was conceived. Blood in stools may indicate range of chronic diseases
Faecal bleeding may be a marker of a range of chronic disease, including several cancers, previously thought to be unrelated, according to new research from the University of Dundee. The presence of blood in stools has long been associated with colorectal cancer. The new study, led by Professor Bob Steele of Dundee’s School of Medicine, has shown that patients who recorded a positive faecal occult blood test (FOBT) were much more likely to die not only from colorectal cancer but also a range of other diseases.
