Students create suicide awareness comic to address the stigma of mental health
Students and staff from the University of Dundee have produced a comic to raise awareness of suicide in an attempt to reduce the stigma around mental health. ‘Let’s Talk About Suicide’ will launch on Wednesday 10 October to coincide with World Mental Health Day. The dynamic storybook deals with a sensitive and under-resourced health issue in an engaging way. Student captures surreal shot of Dundee
University of Dundee Fine Art student Jakub Stepanovic fought through mud and darkness to get a unique photograph from the River Tay. The shot, which depicts the Tay Bridge in Dundee silhouetted at night, was taken from the riverbed at low tide. Galactic mysteries that have puzzled humanity for centuries will be put under the telescope next week, as University of Dundee lecturer Aurora Sicilia-Aguilar takes to the stage. Doctors of the future - Scotland’s first graduate entry medical course begins
A new graduate entry medical course with a focus on rural and GP medicine has begun in St Andrews and Dundee. ScotGEM is a Scottish Government-funded course open to students who have graduated with a degree other than medicine. Health Secretary Jeane Freeman was in St Andrews to meet some of the 55 students who have started work on the four year course, hosted by the medical schools at the Universities of Dundee and St Andrews in partnership with the University of the Highlands and Islands and NHS Scotland.
