Albinism campaigner speaks of being hunted for body parts
A human rights campaigner, who has just completed a fellowship at the University of Dundee, has spoken of how she and other people with albinism are “hunted like animals” in her home country of Malawi. Tumeliwa Mphepo is one of three international activists who spent a semester at the University as part of the Scottish Human Rights Defender Fellowship initiative. Prestigious role for Professor Annie Anderson
Annie Anderson, Professor of Public Health Nutrition at the University of Dundee, has been elected President of the UK Society for Behavioural Medicine (UKSBM). Carols by candlelight – Sunday 9 December 5pm
One of the highlights of Dundee’s festive calendar will take place this weekend as the University of Dundee hosts its annual carols by candlelight service. The event, which is open to all, will take place in a new venue this year, at Dundee Parish Church (St Mary’s) on Sunday 9 December at 5pm. New elite barley could be a budding success
New gene combinations in barley could prove a budding success for breeders and brewers across the world, according to a new study by plant scientists at the University of Dundee and the James Hutton Institute. The study, published in New Phytologist, suggests new barley lines created by bringing together novel genetic variation, could dramatically benefit the brewing and distilling industries by offering improved grain quality.
