Carols by candlelight – Sunday 9 December 5pm

One of the highlights of Dundee’s festive calendar will take place this weekend as the University of Dundee hosts its annual carols by candlelight service.

The event, which is open to all, will take place in a new venue this year, at Dundee Parish Church (St Mary’s) on Sunday 9 December at 5pm.

This years’ service will be extra special as it will be the last service that Professor Sir Pete Downes, the University’s Principal, will attend in his formal capacity after almost a decade in office and nearly 30 years of service to the University.

Rev Dr Fiona Douglas, University Chaplain, said, “The Carol Service is one of the highlights of the University year when staff and students, their families, and the local community come together to mark Christmas.

“It is always a wonderful ceremony and we hope to see you there.”

The event will be followed by a reception where mulled wine and mince pies will be served.
