Town and Regional Planning at the University of Dundee recently awarded the Town and Country Planning Association (Scotland) Prize for the best student in the MSc Spatial Planning course to Ryan Blair. Ryan recently graduated with distinction in the MSc Spatial Planning with Environmental Assessment and previously graduated with a first class honours degree in geography from the University of Dundee. He is now a licentiate of the Royal Town Planning Institute and hopes to obtain the Chartered status in good time.
On receiving this award Ryan said "I am honoured to have been selected as the recipient of the 2015 Town and Country Planning Association (Scotland) award. Throughout my time on the MSc Spatial Planning course, I was made continuously aware of the vital position planning occupies in tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing our society. These issues, from climate change to social justice, are consistently recognised by the TCPA through their valuable work. My heartfelt thanks extend to the staff and students involved with the MSc programme, whose help and support made the experience stimulating and wholly worthwhile. I would also like to thank TCPAS for providing the opportunity for students of the University of Dundee to be considered for this award.’’

After completing his studies Ryan joined AECOM Planning and Environment team working as a Graduate Planner based in Edinburgh.
Presenting the award the Director of Spatial Planning Programmes Dr Dumiso Moyo said ‘’It is a great pleasure to have exceptionally talented students of Ryan’s calibre epitomised by a blend of natural talent and humbling hard work.
