New Parkinson’s disease chemical messenger discovered
A new chemical messenger that is critical in protecting the brain against Parkinson’s disease has been identified by scientists at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit at the University of Dundee. The research team led by Dr Miratul Muqit had previously discovered that mutations in two genes – called PINK1 and Parkin – lead to Parkinson’s. University ask prospective students to `#TestDriveDundee'
The University of Dundee has already been rated best in Scotland and the UK for student experience. Now the University is asking five people to sample student life for themselves and `test drive’ Dundee. Writer and broadcaster Billy Kay will explore the history of Scottish nationalism when he presents a public lecture for the University of Dundee’s 5 Million Questions project this Friday.
