Exhibition of 'selfies' goes on display at DJCAD
It's been a big few months for the selfie, with Oxford Dictionaries naming it their word of the year and the snap of the Oscars stars smashing records for re-tweets but a new exhibition of work from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) students takes a more painstaking approach to self-portraiture. Dundee has 48 hours to change the world
Photo opportunity: 6pm on Friday, 7th March in the DJCAD Cantina, Crawford Building, Perth Road. At 5pm on Friday, 7th March 2014, a global event will begin at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD) that gives participants just 48 hours to change the world. Poetry and propaganda come to life
Poetry used to spread propaganda through the press during World War I will be brought to life at a special event presented by staff from the University of Dundee’s School of Humanities and the JOOT Theatre Company this weekend. Members of the Great War Dundee (GWD) Commemorative Project will show how poetry and propaganda became entwined during WWI at StAnza, Scotland's International Poetry Festival, on Saturday, 8th March. Diabetes UK honour for Professor Stephen Greene
Professor Stephen Greene, a world renowned expert in diabetes in young people, has been chosen to give the prestigious Arnold Bloom Lecture at Diabetes UK's conference in Liverpool next week. Women in Science Festival
The achievements of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths will be celebrated at the Women In Science Festival 2014 this month. Women In Science 2014 will also highlight the many opportunities there are for women to pursue a career in science and related subjects. It is the only festival in the World to focus on celebrating women in science and this year will present a range of film screenings, exhibitions, talks and family fun days.
